《现代汉语词典》的转义处理方式主要分为两个层次:本义与转义是否同时释出、转义在多义项条目中的排列位置。前者又分为:本义与转义同时释出;不释出本义,只释出转义。后者又分为:转义紧跟在引申出转义的义项之后;转义排在靠后的义项;同一类型的多个转义按照与本义关系先近后远的顺序或先具体后抽象的顺序排列。这些探讨既有助于加深对《现代汉语词典》编纂体例科学性的认识,也有利于促进现代汉语语文辞书编纂水平的提高。

The way to deal with the transfer in the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary can be divided into two levels: whether the original meaning and the transfer explained together, and the order of the transfers. The first level is further divided into two kinds. First, the original meaning and the transfer are explained together. Second, the transfer is explained without the original meaning. The second level is further divided into three kinds. First, the transfer is followed closely the item which the transfer derived from. Second, the transfer is ranked behind. Third, the relationship with the original meaning are arranged from the close meaning to the fairly distant one, from the specific one to the abstract one. These discussions will help to deepen the scientific understanding of the compiling style of the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary, and also help to promote the improvement of the compiling level of general-purpose modern Chinese dictionaries.
