语域理论视角下世界自然遗产地英文公示语的特点研究——以武陵源核心景区为例

中国山河壮丽,景观奇特,具有丰富多彩和极为珍贵的风景名胜资源,这不仅是大自然和前人留下的宝贵遗产,是中华民族之瑰宝,也是世界文化和自然遗产的重要组成部分。武陵源核心景区被联合国教科文组织于1992年列入《世界自然遗产名录》。作为一个国际旅游城市,张家界武陵源风景名胜区的英文公示语对该地的对外旅游发展起着不可估量的作用。语域理论是系统功能语言学理论的重要组成部分,文章从词、句两方面出发,探讨了在语域理论视角下武陵源核心景区英语公示语的特点,希望对以后世界自然遗产地公示语的英译有一定的借鉴作用。

China is a country with magnificent scenery and exotic landscapes.There are rich and extremely rare scenic resources,which is the precious heritage left by nature and our forefathers,the treasure of Chinese civilization and an important part of world cultural and natural heritage.Wulingyuan core scenic spot was listed into the World Natural Heritage Directory by UNESCO in 1992.English public signs in Wulingyuan scenic spot have great impact on developing inbound travel for Zhangjiajie,an international tourist city.Register Theory is one of the most important contents of systemic functional linguistics.This paper studies the lexical and syntactic features of English public signs from the perspective of register theory.It aims to provide some new ideas for the translation of public signs in world natural heritage sites in the future.
