摘要
1954年,福特基金会下设的教育促进基金会组织成立了“教育在美国历史上的作用委员会”,以探讨教育在美国历史上所发挥的作用,反思美国历史学界对教育关注的不足,呼吁美国史学界应该在美国史研究的不同领域和不同话题中重视教育的角色。该委员会于1957年发布了第一份报告《教育在美国历史上的作用》。长期以来,该报告一直被视为影响20世纪中后期美国教育史研究转型的重要文献。但是,我国学界对这份报告仍然缺乏较为全面而深入的认识,对它的评价也不够准确和客观。目前首次呈现的该报告的中译文,完整地还原了该报告的整体面貌,可以让我们对20世纪美国教育史学的转型有更加客观和深入的理解。
In 1954,the Fund for the Advancement of Education under Ford Foundation organized Committee on the Role of Education in American History to explore the role of education in American history,reflect on the insufficient attention to education in American historical academic community,and call on American historians to pay attention to the role of education in different fields and topics in the study of American history.In 1957,the committee released its first report“The Role of Education in American History”.For a long time,the report has been regarded as an important work affecting the transformation of the study on American educational history in the middle and late 20th century.However,the academic community in China still lacks a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of this report,and the evaluation is not accurate and objective enough.This paper is the first Chinese translation of the report and completely restores the overall landscape of it,which will help us to have a more objective and in-depth understanding of the transformation of American historiography of education in the 20th century.
