Chinese Translation of“Pragmatics”Based on Semiotics

学者在译介“pragmatics”这一术语时,理解和翻译存在一定分歧。一般而言,主要有“符用学”“符效学”和“语用学”三种译名。各种译名下“pragmatics”的主旨意义和所指内涵不尽相同,各有其概念倾向和指涉范围。根据其理论基础,学科史和方法论,从符号学的角度对各种译名加以解析,梳理现代语用学称谓在中国的译介状况,以期通过不同的译介研究来分析各种译名下“pragmatics”的研究范畴及其内涵意义,为哲学实用论、哲学实效论、符号学、语用学乃至语义学和句法学的研究厘清概念,为“pragmatics”的起源和学科内涵及其意义溯本清源。

By translating the term of“Pragmatics”,Chinese scholars hold divergence in understanding and translation.In general,three types of translated versions of“Pragmatics”are prevailing in the academics of translation,which are the Chinese translation of“Fu Yong”“Fu Xiao”and“Yu Yong”.The purport,meaning and connotation of“Pragmatics”in different translations are different,which has its own conceptual connotation and scope of reference.In accordance with the theoretical basis of Pragmatics,academic history and methodology,this paper analyzes various Chinese translated terms of“Pragmatics”from the perspective of Semiotics,and reviews the translation of modern pragmatic appellations in China,with a view to analyzing the research scope and connotation of“Pragmatics”under various translation terms through different translation studies,for the purpose of the clarification of the concepts for the study of Philosophical Pragmatism,Pragmaticism,Semiotics,Pragmatics,Semantics and Syntax,as well as tracing back the origin,connotation and significance of“Pragmatics”.
