摘要
在众多英译《诗经》的翻译家中,英国的理雅各、阿瑟·韦利和美国的埃兹拉·庞德都是杰出的代表人物。本文从《诗经》的首篇《关雎》为切入点,从叠词、韵律和意象三个方面比较他们翻译的理念和风格,展示三者各自翻译的特色、译作之魅力。他们译诗的理念不同,风格迥异,但都技巧娴熟,各有千秋。正是其翻译的差异性以互补的形式丰富了《诗经》的英译,在某种程度上共同构成了西方读者所认知的《诗经》。
Among many translators of the book of songs,James Legge,Arthur Waley and Ezra Pound are outstanding representatives.Guan Ju,the first poem of the book of songs was studied to compare their translation ideas and styles in terms of reduplication,rhythm and image to reveal their respective translation characteristics and charm.They have various ideas and styles in translating poems,but they are all skillful and have their own merits.It is the difference of its translation that enriches the English translation of the book of songs in the form of complementarity,and to a certain extent constitutes what the book of songs is believed to be in the west.
