The latest study of Picasso by T.J.Clark,a famous contemporary art and social historian,narrates Picasso’s initial obsession with“truth”,his difficult transformation to present“Untruth”,and the final completion of Guernica.In order to discuss Picasso’s relationship between“truth”and realistic history and analyze the changes in the pictorial language,themes and painter’s sense of space in the1920s and1930s,Clark takes a close look at Picasso’s works,grasping the changes in Cubism’s view of reality from the perspective of visual form and visual language structure.This kind of contemplation and scrutiny is what art historians and art critics lack most at present.
