摘要
四川地区是汉代画像砖分布较为集中的区域,其制作和使用方法具有很强的地域性。这些画像砖墓一直受到学界的关注,成果较为丰富。早期对四川画像砖墓的研究以考古学者为主[1],基本解决了画像砖墓年代、类型、分期、分区、工艺制作、图像分类等问题。
Through reconstruction of the arrangement of imagery in Han Dynasty pictorial brick iconography, a new understanding of themes and meanings of pictorial bricks emerges.This study reveals that most pictorial bricks have specifi c orientations: all bricks unearthed from the same tomb are basically orientated to the same direction, forming one, unidirectional sequence. Various sets of themes appear on pictorial bricks such as horse and chariot, gate and gate tower, mystery, feasting, and fortune. Different sets of these themes also produce patterns in arrangement. For example, sets of the three iconographic themes of horse and chariot, gate and gate tower, and feasting are often arranged in an orderly fashion, refl ecting the unique funerary art tradition of this region and prevalence of belief in the Queen Mother of the West rising to immortality.
