Classical Marxist authors analyzed the types of poverty that exist in capitalist society, revealed the inherent logic that the capitalist mode of production led to social polarization inevitably, and based on this, envisioned the economic development principle of achieving common prosperity in the future society. Based on a profound understanding of the Marxist theory and ideals of common prosperity, the Communist Party of China’s centennial of exploration in four historical periods has achieved a leap from theory to reality of common prosperity, and has further promoted the new development of the Marxist theory of common prosperity through practice. Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the issue of common prosperity and published a series of major discourses on common prosperity, answered deeply why common prosperity should be achieved, what kind of common prosperity should be achieved, and how common prosperity can be achieved in the new era and greatly promoted the innovative development of the Communist Party of China’s common prosperity thought.
