Discussion and Complementation of the Book Collations and Explanations of Xunzi

《荀子》是先秦重要的子書,由於其中多古詞古義,又因在很長一段時期内疏於校理而致使訛誤較多。清代以來,學者逐漸重視此書,校釋者頗多,尤以今人王天海的《荀子校釋》一書最晚出而搜羅最富,考證精詳。然細讀原書,仍有若干未洽之處,今爲商補札記若干條,以期對研讀《荀子》者有所助益。

The book Xunzi is an important philosophical work of pre-Qin period.It has a lot of ancient words and meanings,and for a long time wasn’t treated,so there are many errors in it.From Qing Dynasty,scholars gradually paid more attention to it and many achievements on collation appeared,in which Collations and Explanations of Xunzi by Wang Tianhai is the last one and also the richest one on material,whose textual research is also excellent.However,there are also some wrong in the book,so this article puts forward forty items as supplement and correction,in order to be help for reading Xunzi.
