Camus’ Plays from the Perspective of Raymond Williams’ Community Theory

Raymond Williams, the English Marxist theorist, made a special comment on Camus’ drama with his unique tragedy theory, and pointed out the tragic factors in his drama: the setting of fate, the action of characters, the dilemma of individualism and so on. Williams’ community theory attempts to rebuild an overall relationship between characters in the drama and lead them out of the tragic ethical dilemma between “absurdity” and “resistance”.
