林损“撷新扩故”融汇中西文化观及现实意义

Lin Sun’s Culture View of Taking Advantage of New and Old Things as well as Integrating Chinese and Western Culture

林损酷爱传统国学,是一个立足传统且有独立担当的学者,在中西文化纷争中独辟蹊径,主张“撷新扩故”中西学术应该兼而采之。传承永嘉先贤思想,提倡注重实际功用的“事功”说,践行经世致用,在新旧文化之争中主张保存国粹,强调中华文明的延续和发展要靠本身的重塑和再造。这对我们反对文化虚无主义,坚定文化自信,建设中国特色社会主义文化,具有积极的现实意义。

Lin Sun was an independent scholar based on tradition.He loved classic Chinese literature and found a new way in the Sino-western cultural disputes.He advocated taking advantage of new and old things and Chinese and western learning should be both adopted.He inherited the thought of Yongjia sages,advocated the theory of“Shigong”which paid attention to practical function.He was committed to doing something beneficial to the society.He advocated the preservation of the quintessence of Chinese culture in the dispute between new and old cultures,and stressed that the continuation and development of Chinese civilization depended on its own remolding and reconstruction.It is of positive practical significance for us to oppose cultural nihilism,strengthen cultural self-confidence,and build a socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.
