夷伯盘考释

Textual Research on Yibo Pan

本文对山西绛县横水墓地出土的夷伯盘铭文进行考释,指出其年代应为西周中期后段,与传世的桋伯鼎年代相若,铭文字体风格近似,“桋(夷)伯”或即一人。盘铭与甚孪君簋、乖伯簋等铭文文例及记事皆近似,夷伯与甚孪君及乖伯身份类似,系东夷国族君长,夷(桋)的地望在今山东青岛即墨西。盘铭用字和措辞风格独特,与同时期周人及中原铜器铭文风格迥异,而与淮伯鼎等颇似,东夷本土风格特征明显,但与周人及中原文化多有关联,从侧面印证和折射了盘铭所反映的当时东夷与周王朝及中原的关系。

This paper makes a textual research on the inscriptions of Yibo pan unearthed from Hengshui cemetery in Jiang County, Shanxi Province, and points out that its age should be the later period of the middle Western Zhou Dynasty, which is similar to the age of the handed down Yibo tripod, and the font style of the inscriptions is similar, "Yibo" maybe one person. The text example and records of the inscriptions of Yibo pan are similar to the inscriptions of the Shenluanjun gui and the Guaibo gui. Yibo is similar to that of Shenluanjun and Guaibo, who is the head of the eastern Yi ethnic group which is located in the west of Jimo,Qingdao, Shandong Province. The inscription of the pan has a unique style of characters and expressions. It is very different from the bronze inscriptions of the Zhou people and the Central Plains in the same period,but quite similar to the Huaibo tripod, etc. It can be seen that with obvious regional characteristics and the local style of the Dongyi, but it is mostly related to the Zhou people and the culture of the Central Plains,which confirms and reflects the relationship between the Dongyi, the Zhou Dynasty and the Central Plains of the time reflected by the inscription of Pan.
