《论语》中祭祀词汇英译的对比研究——以辜译本与许译本为例

A Comparative Study of Sacrificial Words in the Analects of Confucius—Taking Gu Hong-ming and Xu Yuan-chong’s Versions as Examples

以高语境文化理论为基础,同时结合认知识解理论,选取《论语》中有关祭祀名称的词汇翻译进行对比分析,从而探究许渊冲与辜鸿铭《论语》英译本的不同之处,分析译者的高语境文化认知对于典籍翻译方法的影响。

The Analects of Confucius which contains profound philosophy and Chinese wisdom was a traditional Chinese book and a carrier of Confucianism. A comparative study of the English versions of the Analects of Confucius could help us explore the translation focuses of different translators and provided us with better reference for the English translation of the Analects of Confucius. Based on the theory of high context culture and the theory of cognitive construal, this paper made a comparative analysis of the translation of sacrificial names in the Analects of Confucius,so as to explore the differences between the English versions of the Analects of Confucius by Xu Yuanchong and Gu Hongming, and analyzed the influence of the translator’s cognition of high context culture on the translation methods of classics.
