赛珍珠《群芳亭》中的中国女性形象

摘要 赛珍珠的《群芳亭》将创作视角从中国农民转移到了中国女性身上,以“五四”前后中国的女性运动为背景,塑造了在守旧和求新中徘徊的吴爱莲、坚守传统思想的康太太和勇敢走出庭院的秋明等女性形象,体现了作者追求传统与现代兼具的完美女性形象的女性观。赛珍珠虽然曾长期生活在中国,但是她作为西方女性,难免会从西方中心主义的角度审视中国女性,这使她的《群芳亭》呈现出一定的局限性。 Pearl S.Buck’s Pavilion of Women shifts the creative perspective from Chinese farmers to Chinese women.Taking the Chinese women’s movement before and after the May 4th Movement as the background,it creates women’s images such as Wu Ailian who linger in the old-fashioned and novelty seeking,Mrs.Kang who adheres to the traditional thought and Qiu Ming who bravely walks out of the courtyard,reflecting the author’s female view of pursuing the perfect women’s image of both tradition and modernity.Although Pearl S.Buck once lived in China for a long time,as a Western woman,she will inevitably examine Chinese women from the perspective of Western centrism,which makes her Pavilion of Women show some limitations.
