An Investigation of Ancient Chinese Architecture by Ito Chuta in late Qing Dynasty

根据日本建筑史学家伊东忠太1902年中国古建筑考察的笔记、日记、插图和照片等历史文献资料,结合相关研究成果,梳理伊东忠太河南古建筑考察的重点内容、主要收获,揭示其在中国建筑史学建构及河南古建筑保护研究等方面的价值。

Based on historical documents such as notes,diaries,illustrations and photos from Chinese ancient buildings’investigation in 1902 by Ito Chuta,a Japanese architectural historian,and combined with relevant research results,the paper sort out the key content and main gains of his investigation,in order to reveal its value in the construction of Chinese architectural history and the research on protection of ancient buildings in Henan.
