长沙地铁站名称的体认语言学探讨

A Study of the Name of Changsha Subway Station from the Perspective of Embodied-Cognitive Linguistics

长沙地铁站名称承载着长沙深厚的文化底蕴,蕴含了丰富的体验性和认知性。在体认语言学指导下,研究发现长沙地铁站名称的体验性表现为地铁站名称能有效折射出长沙地理地貌特征及历史文化特色,其认知性体现为长沙地铁站的命名过程是一个认知加工过程,该过程不仅受制于转喻认知操作,还必须遵循“实现语言经济性、明晰性和韵律感有机统一”的认知原则。长沙地铁站命名应当遵循“名地相符、指示明晰、规范统一、表述精简、艺术性强、文化性强”的原则,英译时要避免不统一不规范等情况,在此基础上还要努力追求英译名称的艺术性和文化性。

The name of Changsha subway station carries the profound cultural heritage of Changsha,and contains rich experience and cognition.Under the guidance of embodied-cognitive linguistics,this study finds that the name of the subway station can effectively reflect the unique geographical features and historical and cultural characteristics of Changsha,which is regarded as the experiential nature of names.Its cognitive nature is reflected in that the naming process of Changsha subway station is a cognitive processing process,which is not only subject to metonymy cognitive operations,but also needs to follow the cognitive principle of"realizing the organic unity of linguistic economy,clarity,and rhythm".The naming of Changsha subway station should follow the principles of"consistent name and place,clear instructions,standardized wording,concise expression,strong artistry,and strong culture".In English translation,we should avoid inconsistencies and irregularities.and the translator must strive to achieve the artistic and cultural characteristics of the English names.
