Professor Zhang Chongquan’s Experience in Treating Headache from the Spleen Theory

头痛为临床多发疾病,亦是多种疾病的伴随症状。张崇泉教授从脾气虚乏、升清不足的角度分析外感及内伤头痛的发病机制,将脾气虚弱作为头痛的基础病机。张老将其基础病机所引发的兼证分为:风邪外客、湿邪外客、淤血阻络、水饮冲逆四类,并以自拟方益气升阳汤作为基础方剂,在益气健脾,助脾升清的基本疗法上根据兼症灵活加减,对治脾气虚弱引发的各类头痛。

Headache is a frequently-occurring disease in clinical practice and a symptom of many diseases.Professor Zhang Chongquan analyzed the pathogenesis of external and internal injuries and headaches from the perspective of lack of spleen Qi and insufficient clearing of Qi.Mr.Zhang classified the concurrent syndromes caused by the basic pathogenesis into four categories:outsiders from wind evil,outsiders from dampness,congestion blocking the collaterals,and drinking water.Wind evil restrains the head,wet evil restrains the head,congestion blocking the collaterals,and water evil filling and hitting the head.And take the self-made prescription Yiqi Shengyang Decoction as the basic prescription,in the basic therapies of invigorating the Qi and strengthening the spleen,and helping the spleen to clear the spleen,it can be flexibly added and subtracted according to the concurrent symptoms,and it can treat various headaches caused by weak spleen.
