With the advances of the times and social development,national culture has combined with the illustration design and gradually integrated into our daily life,which notably demonstrating the prosperity and great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The diversity of national culture provides abundant source of design inspiration for various fields of modern design,as a substance product under the background of national culture,national costume culture plays essential role in inherit spiritual intention of illustration design.Based on the background of national culture,this paper has investigated the application of national costumes relevant elements in the theme and content form of illustration design,as well as discussed its guiding significance to the spiritual civilization of modern illustration works,in terms to meet the needs of the public aesthetics for the national cultural connotation in the illustration works.
