从功能翻译观看科技论文摘要的英译——以中文SCI期刊论文为例

C-E Translation of Abstracts in Science Journals with a Functionalist Approach:A Case Study of Chinese SCI Journals

是高水平中文科技期刊论文对外传播的重要窗口。然而,中文期刊论文的英译摘要质量普遍欠佳,难以充分实现预期功能。本文以SCI中文期刊论文的中英双语摘要为例,结合功能翻译理论中关于翻译行为、文本类型和翻译目的三方面的核心观念,采用文献与实例分析结合的方法,剖析摘要英译中存在的问题,探讨科技论文摘要英译策略。

As a window for international academic communication,the English abstracts of top Chinese scientific and technological journals remain to be further improved in translation quality to fully realize their expected functions.Using the Chinese/English abstracts of Chinese SCI journals as examples,we apply the core notions of Functional Translation Theory regarding translation activity,text typology and translation purpose to C-E translation issues,and discuss strategies for translating articles in scientific and technological journals based on literature and content analysis.
