沃渣作为“鲁艺”美术系的首任系主任,传承导师鲁迅的精神火种,探索木刻“民族形式”的途径,通过一道道刀痕铺陈出民族解放运动的宏大图景,将中华民族的信念和力量传播到世界。他具有敏锐、深隽的艺术感受力和丰富、自由的版画语言,他将一生的创作经验与时代风云融为一体,并将这一精神资源融化为审慎思考“文艺大众化”的刀笔实践与树蕙植兰的育人铎声。
As the first dean of the Fine Art Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts,Wo Zhao inherited the spiritual sparks of his mentor Lu Xun in his exploration of national approaches to woodcut.Through his knife work,he managed to depict the grand landscape of national liberation movement and conveyed the confidence and power of the Chinese nation to the rest of the world.He had an acute and profound artistic perception and rich and free woodcut language.By combining his lifelong creative experience with the tides of the times,he integrated the spiritual resources into a "bell ring" calling for prudent consideration of "art massification" and the necessity to educate talents of the next generation.
