Spatial Functional Division and Global Production Chain Embedding

本文基于2000—2013年中国海关数据和中国工业企业数据,研究了地区空间功能分工对企业全球生产链位置的影响、作用机制以及基础设施在其中发挥的调节效应。结果表明:各省份空间功能分工的深化对企业全球生产链位置的影响呈现显著的U型特征,在改变功能分工的测算地理单位以及区分要素特征、城市地位之后,此结果依然稳健;近年来空间功能分工水平超过拐点的省份明显增多,但多数省份空间功能分工的积极效应尚未有效发挥;市场一体化和技术进步是空间功能分工影响企业全球生产链位置的重要渠道;基础设施的改善能够显著增强空间功能分工对企业全球生产链位置产生的积极作用。

Based on Chinese customs data and Chinese industrial enterprises data from 2000 to 2013,this paper examines the effects of regional spatial functional division on enterprises’positions in global production chain and its mechanism,also the moderating effect of infrastructure in the division.The results indicate that,first,the spatial functional division depth takes a significantly U-shaped effect on the position of enterprises’global production chain,and this result is robust despite varying the measured geographical units of spatial functional division,factor characteristics,and city status.Second,the measurement results indicate that the number of provinces with spatial functional division who exceeded the inflection point increased substantially in recent years,but the positive effects of spatial functional division have not been implemented in most provinces.Third,the mechanism analysis reveals that market integration and technological advancement are primary channels through which spatial functional division influences the position of enterprises in global production chain.Lastly,the improvement of infrastructure significantly amplifies the positive effect of spatial functional division on the position of enterprises in global production chain.
