Experience of treating COPDs with Dachaihu Decoction

大柴胡汤出自《伤寒论》,为治疗少阳阳明合病之方。本文分析了大柴胡汤治疗慢性阻塞性肺疾病的病机和临床运用,初步总结出大柴胡汤的使用方证有五:喘憋咳嗽,胸胁胀满,大便秘结,口干口苦,唇绀舌暗痰多。胆胃郁热,腑气不通,痰瘀阻肺,肺气上逆为核心病机。

Dachaihu Decoction,originating from Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases,is a prescription for the treatment of concurrent diseases of Shaoyang and Yangming channels.This paper analyzes the mechanisms and clinical applications of the prescription in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD),and preliminarily summarizes the following five syndromes of those diseases:asthma and cough,swelling and fullness in chest and hypochondrium,constipation,dry mouth and bitter taste in mouth,blue lips and dark tongue with much phlegm.In addition,the core pathogenesis of COPDs is concluded as the stagnated heat in the gallbladder and stomach,obstruction of qi movement in viscera,phlegm and blood stasis obstructing the lung,and adverse rising of lung qi.
