The Column of Transdisciplinary Top Interview of Academicians aims to explore future-oriented issues in science, technology, and humanities. This interview with Professor Wang Ning,a foreign academician of the European Academy of Sciences and a distinguished professor of the School of Humanities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, focuses on reflections on globalization, digital humanities, and international communication.Professor Wang believes that globalization has brought rare opportunities for China’s development.China has quickly adapted to the laws of globalization and gradually made it develop in a direction beneficial to China, and will become the leading force of globalization in the future. The arrival of the era of globalization has also exerted a revolutionary influence and impact on the humanities academic research, which can be reflected from the rise of digital humanities and its challenges to traditional humanities academic research.Humanities scholars should also imbibe some scientific knowledge and improve their awareness and ability to engage in academic research by using some scientific tools.Globalization has more advantages than disadvantages for Chinese culture, and it provides a distinct opportunity for Chinese culture to go global. In view of the tense relationship between China and western countries, strengthening exchanges with western literary circles can effectively spread Chinese culture to the outside world.
