綦亮博士所著的《伍尔夫小说民族叙事研究》是我国第一部从民族叙事视角出发研究弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫小说创作的佳作。该书以20世纪初英帝国身份式微为切口重新定位伍尔夫小说创作的历史语境,纵向探赜伍尔夫书写英国民族身份的三重形态及其成因,横向剖陈每重形态下具体细微的身份认同逻辑。全书以对话的姿态立体地呈现伍尔夫对英帝国身份认同、抗拒以及既认同又抗拒的复杂矛盾心态。这在拓展与深化伍尔夫小说研究的同时,也充分体现新时期中国学者在经典作家研究中的立场和自信。

A Study of the National Narrative in Virginia Woolf’s Fiction by Dr.Qi Liang is the first masterpiece to study Woolf’s idea of community from the perspective of national narrative.Based on the decline of the identity of the British Empire at the beginning of the 20 th century,the book reorients the historical context of Woolf’s novel creation,longitudinally exploring the triple form of Woolf’s writing of British national identity and its causes and horizontally stating the specific logic of identity in each form.The book presents Woolf’s complex contradictory mentality of identity,resistance and both identity and resistance to the British Empire in the form of dialogue,which expands and deepens the study of Woolf’s fictions.It also fully reflects the position and selfconfidence of Chinese scholars in the study of classical writers in the new period.
