A Systematic Literature Review of the Winter Olympics,Cities and Tourism

目的:探讨冬季奥运会的现状及其对城市和旅游的影响,为北京冬奥会城市发展与旅游提供重要参考。方法:应用系统评价方法搜索英文数据库,检查出符合标准的研究文献,根据不同主题进行定性分析。结果:相关文献共有50篇,城市影响重点强调了在冬奥会前期的基础设施建设,推动城市转型。旅游业的相关影响主要包括客流量、基础设施和城市形象三个方面。文章普遍表明,冬奥会对城市发展的综合影响主要体现在基础设施建设方面,在交通基础设施方面所投入的资金被认为是积极的,但对体育设施的投资却相对复杂。同时,奥运会为旅游业的发展提供了一个机会,一方面因为冬奥会前期对奥运设施的改造升级完善了相关的基础设施建设;另一方面因为冬奥会为主办城市提供了一个展示自己的平台而增加了城市的国际曝光度。

This paper aims to explore the current situation of the Winter Olympic Games and its impact on the city and tourism, so as to provide reference for the urban development and tourism of Beijing Winter Olympic Games.Methods: A systematic evaluation method was used to search the English database from 2000 to September 1 of 2021.Research literature that met the criteria was included and qualitative analysis was conducted according to different topics.Results: A total of 50 papers were included.The emphasis of urban impact was on the infrastructure construction in the early stage of the Winter Olympic Games to promote urban transformation.The influence of tourism mainly includes three aspects: toutists flow, infrastructure and city image.All papers generally show that the overall impact of the Winter Olympics on the city’s development is mainly reflected in infrastructure construction, with the investment in transport infrastructure considered positive, but the investment in sports facilities is relatively complex.At the same time, the Olympic Games provides an opportunity for the development of tourism.On the one hand, the reconstruction and upgrading of Olympic facilities before the Winter Olympics has improved the related infrastructure construction.On the other hand, hosting the Winter Olympics provide a platform for the host city to present itself and increase the international exposure of the city.
