激情的再激情化——薛忆沩《通往天堂的最后那一段路程》的重写

《通往天堂的最后那一段路程》是本世纪第一个十年重要的小说之一。它的主体部分是一封书信,是以白求恩为原型的怀特大夫“写作风暴”的产物。其最大特征便是激情。后来,薛忆沩又对这篇小说进行了重写,在用词、句式、内容等方面做了很大修改,文本体量也得到很大增加。重写版不是维持、弱化或者消解原有的激情,而是将之推向更高的强度,可以说是激情的再激情化。而小说的激情书写和再激情化重写之所以能够艺术地成立,乃在于包括书写环境、诱因触媒、动力机制、体裁形式和书写内容等多种因素为之提供了坚实依据。通过挑战语言极限的重写,薛忆沩将小说的艺术质量提升到了更高的层次。

Last Journey to Paradise, one of the most important novels of the first decade in this century, consists of letters in the main, the product of a writing storm of Dr White, based on Bethune, characterized by passion. Subsequently, Xue Yiwei rewrote the novel so that the use of words, the style of the sentences and the contents went through much change, with the textual amount also much increased. The rewritten version, instead of maintaining, weakening or dissolving the original passion, pushed it to a higher degree of strength, making passion the more passionate. The reason why the passionate writing and the more passionate rewriting could be artistically established is that many factors, such as the writing circumstances,incentive catalyst, dynamic mechanism, genre and the written contents, have provided a solid basis. Through rewriting by challenging the limits of the language, Xue Yiwei took the artistic quality of fiction to a higher level.
