There is an intertextual dialogue between Riverbank and The Yellow Sparrow in Su Tong′s two novels written in the new century,in which the symbiosis and mapping relationship is mainly reflected in three aspects:the setting of characters mirroring each other,the theme meaning blending with each other and the coupling of the two works′ art world.It is a philosophical dialogue and aesthetic reference in Su Tong′s southern imagination world when reading the two works from the perspective of intertextuality,and the dialogue and reference provides an effective way to understand and explore the characters,artistic styles and thematic implications of the two novels.Riverbank and The Yellow Sparrow are not only two important "aesthetic towns" constructed by Su Tong in his practice of Jiangnan aesthetics,but also a thought walk reflecting on the alienation of human nature,the riddle of growth,the dilemma of female survival and the philosophy of human existence.
