“不是A(而)是B”构式可分为语义否定和语用否定两大类。语义否定是一种客观识解,而语用否定是一种主观识解。在语用否定构式中,A和B常常体现为一种梯级关系、隐喻关系或者转喻关系。它的生成机制主要是范畴化思维、隐喻或转喻思维。它的理解机制主要是梯级推理、隐喻推理或转喻推理。

“Bushi A(er)shi B”construction can be classified into two categories:a semantic negation and a pragmatic negation.A semantic negation often represents the world objectively while a pragmatic negation is often a subjective construal.In the cases of pragmatic negation,A and B often exhibits scalar,metaphorical and/or metonymic relations.Categorization,metaphor and metonymy play a vital role in the generation of this construction and the interpretations of this construction primarily derive from scalar,metaphorical and/or metonymic inferences.
