货币为什么有这么大的力量?这是由于在市场经济条件下,货币的本质有了新的变化。货币本质是一般等价物,这是古今中外的共识,但这是简单商品经济中货币具有的属性,随着社会生产力的发展和社会生产关系的改变,货币这个属性不可能是一成不变的。在市场经济中货币本质的新变化,要从货币质、量、变三个方面来研究,货币增添了另一个属性,即货币是财富的代表。货币质、量、变的研究是货币基础理论在方法上的创新,货币本质新变化是货币属性在认识上的创新,这两者对货币具有根本性、重要的理论和实践意义。对拜金主义者来说,货币本质的新变化产生了更大的诱惑力,行贿是从思想上的货币诱惑力进入到行为上的货币诱惑力,使极少数开始只是思想上不健康的人,一步步变成了贪腐的罪犯,是脑中看不见的货币指挥手中看得见的货币。怎样预防货币诱惑力的渗入?廉洁自律,抗腐拒腐,而最主要的是管好脑中看不见的货币,最根本的是要树立正确的货币观,形成健康的货币意识。

Mammonists look at everything in the completely wrong way,which is the essence of Marx’s theory of money fetishism. Regarding this theory,there are three key points. First,Marx analyzes the capitalist mode of production on the basis of commodity. Second,Marx discusses the development of value-form from the simple,expanded and general one to the money-the emergence of money fetishism. Third, Marx’s theory of money fetishism summarizes the analysis of commodity. Only by understanding these three integrated points, can we understand Marx’s theory of money fetishism profoundly.Why is money so powerful? The reason is that in the market economy, the essence of money has changed. Money is essentially a universal equivalent, which is the consensus at all times and across the world. However, such an attribute makes sense only in simple commodity economy. With the development of social productivity and the change in social relations of production, the attribute of money also evolves. In the market economy, changes in the essence of money are reflected in three aspects: quality, quantity and change of money. There is an additional attribute for money-the representative of wealth. The research on quality, quantity and change of money reflects the innovation of basic theory of money in methods, and the change in the essence of money is the innovation of monetary attribute in cognition. They are of fundamental theoretical and practical significance for money.As for mammonists, the change in the essence of money leads to great temptation of money. Bribery turns to be a behavior that puts such temptation in mind into practice, making a few persons who are only unhealthy in thought morals at first become corrupt and bribe-taking offenders.The invisible money in mind dominates the visible money in hand. How can we prevent the temptation of money and achieve incorruptibility and self-discipline? The main solution is to control the invisible money in mind and establish a correct view of money or healthy money consciousness.The conclusions of this paper are as follows. First,the answer to the mystery of money lies not in money,but in the mind of mammonists. Second, when mammonists become criminals and accept people’s trial, they begin to look at everything in the right way and realize that they had been taken in by money. Third,in socialist market economy,the most dangerous is the money fetishism,because a few mammonists can bring about colossal damage to the society. As long as there is money commodity,the fight against corruption will never come to an end. Fourth,the dual attributes of money(namely,a universal equivalent and the representative of wealth) and the method of analyzing money from the relations among quality,quantity and change of money are new exploration and achievement in basic theory of money and research methods,respectively.The suggestions of this paper are as follows. First,we should include the establishment of a correct view of money in the cultivation of socialist core values. Second,traditional socialist economics and finance only focus on the role of money in economy,ignoring the influence of money on people, which is a major demerit in theory and should be improved in the future. Third, combating money fetishism should be included in the classroom teaching of colleges and universities,especially in the teaching content of specialized courses in universities of finance and economics.
