大学生成就目标导向对英语学业回避求助的影响——基于竞争评估取向的调节研究

The effect of college EFL learners’achievement goal orientation on help seeking avoidance based on the moderation of competitive assessment perception

回避求助是大学生在英语学习中普遍存在的问题,优等生也不例外。基于成就目标理论,本研究重点探究成就目标导向与回避求助存在何种关联,并考察大学英语评估情境对此关联的调节作用。实证结果表明:第一,不同成就目标个体在回避求助上存在显著差异,其中掌握目标个体的回避求助倾向最低,成绩趋近目标个体居中,成绩回避目标个体的回避求助倾向最高;第二,随着竞争评估取向的提升,三类学生的学业求助意愿显著提升,其中掌握目标个体提升的幅度最大,成绩回避目标个体居中,成绩趋近目标个体则最小。研究发现为大学外语教学实践者如何利用动机行为规律良性干预大学生的英语学业求助提供了重要启示。

Help seeking avoidance(HSA)is widely existent in EFL learning,which is not exception for the top students.Based on the achievement goal theory,this study focuses on the relationship between achievement goal orientation(AGO)and HSA,and examines the moderation effect of college EFL assessment situation on this relationship.Results show that,firstly,EFL learners with different AGOs behave differently in HSA,individuals with mastery goal(AGO3)have the lowest tendency in HSA,the ones with performance approach goal(AGO1)are in the middle,followed by the ones with performance avoidance goal(AGO2);secondly,as the competitive assessment perception goes up,students’help seeking willingness has increased significantly,among which the ones with AGO3 are the most moderated,ahead of the ones with AGO2 and the ones with AGO1 as the least.The findings provide important enlightenment for EFL teachers on how to positively intervene college students’academic help seeking with the law of motivational behavior.
