Cultural Practice of New Folk Songs in China’s Mainland: Narration, Memory and Identity

由“小众”走向“大众”的过程中,作为精神产品的大陆新民谣具有重要的文化功能与日常生活化的意识形态意义。研究发现,大陆新民谣善于运用“人-时-地”的叙事模式,建构人们关于“青春-理想-童年”的集体记忆,镜像出社会转型期青年人的情感诉求和记忆结构。人们借由民谣不断进行着“柔性抵抗”,完成着关于身份认同的亚文化实践。

In the process of developing from the "niche" to the "popular" spiritual product, mainland new folk songs have important cultural functions and ideological significance in daily life. It is found that the narrative mode of "person-time-place" is often used in the new folk songs in China’s mainland to construct people’s collective memory of "youth-ideal-childhood", and mirror the emotional appeal and memory structure of young people in social transition. Through folk songs, people constantly carry out "flexible resistance" and complete the subculture practice about identity.
