颈椎后纵韧带骨化症(ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament,OPLL)是指多种因素导致的后纵韧带异常骨化物形成,导致椎管、椎间孔容积减小,脊髓和/或神经根受压而产生脊髓损伤及神经根刺激症状。手术治疗颈椎OPLL的根本目的是扩大颈椎椎管容积、解除骨化物对脊髓的压迫,从而阻止神经功能损害进一步加重,改善患者临床症状。
