Application of JoVE in Teaching Specialized English for Pharmacy

专业药学英语是高等医药院校药学、中药学、中药制药等专业学生的一门专业选修课,是学生从通用英语学习到专业英语学习过渡的有效途径。为了提升专业英语学习的趣味性,突出教学内容的专业性和实用性,我们将实验视频期刊——Journal of Visualized Experiments(JoVE)引入到教学内容中,提高学生对专业词汇的掌握程度和应用能力,直观的科研实验视频展示也有助于提升学生对科学研究的认识。

Specialized English for Pharmacy is a major elective course for students majoring in Chinese materia medica and pharmacy in medical colleges,which is an effective way for students accomplish the transition from general English to specialized English.To enhance the interest of English learning and strengthen the professionalization and practicality of the content,Journal of Visualized Experiments(JoVE)was introduced into course of Specialized English for Pharmacy.In this way,students could acquire basic knowledge of specialized vocabulary and enhance the practical ability.The visual demonstration of experiments can help enhance students’understanding of scientific research.
