This paper summarizes the differences in professional practice between structural engineers in China and those in developed countries and regions,analyzes the reasons for the differences,and puts forward improving countermeasures.Compared with the developed countries and regions,there are many reasons for the problems in the professional practice standard of first-class registered structural engineers in China,including social reasons,economic reasons and institutional reasons,the social reasons include the social credit and moral environment,the economic reasons include the market supply and demand and the market environment,and the institutional reasons include the assessment process and the assessment subject.After analyzing the reasons,the corresponding short-term countermeasures and long-term countermeasures are put forward.The short-term countermeasures are based on the existing system and environment,including the more detailed evaluation criteria and the registered engineer guarantee recommendation system.
