侨海新慈善的缘起、特征和趋势研究

An Exploration of the Origin, Characteristics and Trend of New Philanthropy among Overseas Chinese

中国传统文化蕴含慈善观,慈善是中华民族的优秀传统美德。海外华侨华人对慈善文化延绵传承,重建多元化的文化认同与社会网络。他们是搭建中国与世界沟通的桥梁,对中国慈善事业的发展起到不可替代的作用。与此同时,以侨领为核心形成的各种海外华人社团,或互济互助,或施善教化,促进了华人与当地文明交流、社会融合及经济发展。文章通过对华侨华人慈善缘起、捐赠领域、捐款动因、新老慈善家的代际差异比较,以及慈善新特征的阐述,展现了华侨华人在构建人类命运共同体中所发挥的独特作用。

China’s traditional culture contains the charitable views, and charity is the excellent traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. Overseas Chinese continue to inherit the charity culture and rebuild diversified cultural identity and social network. They build bridges between China andthe world. Overseas Chinese play an irreplaceable role in the development of China’s philanthropy. In the meantime, various overseas Chinese associations with overseas Chinese leaders as the core helpeach other, which haspromoted cultural exchanges, social integration and economic development between Chinese and local communities. The article illustrates the unique role of overseas Chinese in building a human community with a shared future by comparing the causes of philanthropy among overseas Chinese, the generational differences between old and new philanthropists.
