《火珠林》考略

Textual Research on Huozhu lin

《火珠林》是纳甲筮法的代表作,对于研究筮法的演变与发展有重要意义。该书有宋本与通行本之别,彼此差异很大。朱子著作中曾提及《火珠林》,《永乐大典》所引当是宋本之遗。俄藏黑水城文献《六十四卦图歌》TK322,学人多不识,此即宋本《火珠林》,弥足珍贵。宋本大约成书于唐末宋初,作者不详。通行本《火珠林》则成书于明末清初,题麻衣道者,盖托异人以自重,实则书名与作者皆伪。《火珠林》得名之故,在于“火珠”灵异,烛鉴万物,以神化卜筮之术;“林”字则揭示其生生不已、变化无穷之道,可以感格神灵,事来即应。

Huozhu lin is the representative work of the three-coin method of divination and has great importance for study of the evolution and development of divination. This book has the Song edition and the current edition, which differ greatly from each other. Zhu Xi(1130-1200) once referred Huozhu lin in his works and the cited one in Yongle Dadian should be from the Song edition. Song of Sixty-Four Hexagram Symbols TK322 from the Collection of Khara-Khoto Documents in Russia is strange to most scholars. This is the precious Song text Huozhu lin. Huozhu lin was written around the end of the Tang dynasty(618-907) and the outset of the Song dynasty(960-1279), but the author is unknown. The current version was written in the late Ming(1368-1644) and early Qing(1636-1912) dynasties and was inscribed with the author Mayi Daozhe to elevate the book relying on an unusual person. As a matter of fact, both of the title and the author were false. The reason for the naming of Huozhu Lin is that “Huozhu”(lit., firing pearl) is supernatural and could reflecting all things, in order deify this method of divination. The word “lin”(lit., forest) is used to reveal its nature of ceaseless producing and endless changing which could move spirits and respond to various situations in question.
