新冠肺炎新闻评论中的态度资源与形容词型式——基于型式语法的研究

Attitudes and adjective patterns in the COVID-19 news reviews:Based on pattern grammar

本研究以2020年CNN网站有关新冠肺炎的397篇新闻评论为语料,以型式语法和评价理论之态度系统为分析框架,描写了态度资源在形容词型式中的分布,聚焦每种态度资源的主要表达型式,进行意义、功能考察,旨在构建新的形式—意义—功能模型。研究发现,当限定语篇的体裁、主题时,形容词型式和态度意义存在更加显著的关联;CNN新闻评论通过“判断>鉴赏>情感”的特征来配置态度资源,在新冠肺炎防控方面试图建构客观、理性和负责任的媒体形象,与大众读者实现了有效的情感互动;这些态度资源表达了对特朗普及其政府应对疫情的不满、批判以及对美国疫情形势的担忧。

Based on 397 news reviews on the COVID-19 pandemic from CNN in 2020, this study describes the distribution of attitude resources in adjective patterns under the framework of the appraisal theory’s attitude system and pattern grammar, and investigates their meanings and functions by focusing on the major patterns related to each attitude resource, so as to construct a new form-meaning-function model. The results show that in the texts with a restricted genre and theme, adjective patterns are more significantly correlated with attitude resources;CNN news reviews featuring “JUDGMENT >APPRECIATION>AFFECT” attempts to construct an objective, rational and responsible media identity in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and achieve effective emotional interaction with readers;these attitude resources indicate the disapproval and criticism of President Trump and his administration and concerns about the pandemic situation in America.
