Serving the Religious Believers and Upholding the Principle of Developing Tibetan Buddhism in the Chinese Context

在全国宗教工作会议强调坚持我国宗教中国化方向、积极引导宗教与社会主义社会相适应的背景下,新时代、新形势、新任务对藏传佛教健康传承提出了更高的新要求。作为佛教中国化的产物,藏传佛教想要在新时代有所作为,要健康传承,必须坚持中国化方向。藏传佛教作为大乘佛教的重要流派,其宗旨在于普度众生、服务信众。文章认为,正确认识和对待服务信教群众的问题,既是藏传佛教全面从严治教、搞好宗教自律的重要方面,也是坚持中国化方向的重要内容。坚持中国化方向,藏传佛教必须做好服务信教群众工作,必须正确树立和践行服务信众观,正确认识和处理服务信众与坚持藏传佛教中国化方向的关系,需要正确树立服务信众观,夯实坚持中国化方向思想基础;积极践行服务信众观,增添坚持中国化方向有效途径。

Under the background of the national conference on work related to religious affairs stressing upholding the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context,and providing active guidance for the adaptation of religions to socialist society,the new era,new situation and new tasks have put forward higher and new requirements for the healthy inheritance of Tibetan Buddhism.As a product of the developing Buddhism in the Chinese context,Tibetan Buddhism must adhere to the principle that religions in China must be Chinese in orientation if it wants to make a difference in the new era and achieve healthy inheritance.As an important part of Mahayana Buddhism,Tibetan Buddhism aims to offer salvation to all sentient beings and serve believers.The article argues that correctly understanding and treating the affairs of serving religious believers is not only an important aspect of Tibetan Buddhism’s comprehensive strict management and religious self-discipline,but also an important part of upholding the principle that religions in China must be Chinese in orientation.Upholding the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context,Tibetan Buddhism must do a good job in serving the religious believers and must correctly establish and practice the concept of serving religious believers.To correctly understand and handle the relationship between serving religious believers and upholding the principle of developing Tibetan Buddhism in the Chinese context,it is necessary to correctly establish the concept of serving religious believers,strengthen the ideological foundation for upholding the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context,actively practice the concept of serving religious believers,and add effective ways to uphold the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context.
