摘要
工艺美术是艺术史研究中一大门类,但比起绘画、雕塑等,它在早期艺术史研究中可以说是默默无闻。直到19世纪,李格尔在《风格问题》《罗马晚期的工艺美术》中对其进行专论,其地位才与绘画、雕塑等比肩。本文试图梳理李格尔重新发现工艺美术的思路,得出李格尔对工艺美术的关注是受当时考古学家的影响,且他对工艺美术的再发现与19世纪考古学关系密切。
Arts and crafts is a major category in the study of art history, but compared to painting and sculpture, etc. it can be said to have been obscure in early art historical studies. It was not until the nineteenth century, when Riegel devoted his treatise on it in The Question of Style, The Arts and Crafts of Late Rome, that its status was compared to that of painting and sculpture, etc. This paper attempts to sort out Riegel’s rediscovery of the Arts and Crafts, concluding that Riegel’s focus on the Arts and Crafts was influenced by the archaeologists of his time and that his rediscovery of the Arts and Crafts was closely related to nineteenth-century archaeology.
