Taoism Naturalistic Technology Views

道家自然主义包含着物质与文化两个层面的“自然”,其技术观也呈现出两种“技术”的特点:一种是物质层面可见的技术,另一种是文化层面不可见的技术。技术是顺应自然的产物,同时技术又可能产生背离自然的风险。道家对技术背离自然的揭示反映出文化与技术之间的深层互动关系:技术影响文化发展,同时文化对技术发展又起着制约作用。这就需要我们合理运用技术来促进文化进步与社会发展,并在文化层面从根本上保障技术的健康发展。

Taoism naturalism contains“nature”at the material and cultural levels,and its view of technology also presents two characteristics of“technology”:one is visible technology at the material level,the other is invisible technology at the cultural level.Technology is the product of conforming to nature,and technology may have the risk of deviating from nature.Taoism’s revelation that technology deviates from nature reflects the interactive relationship between culture and technology from a deep level:technology affects the development of culture,and culture restricts the development of technology.This requires us to make rational use of technology to promote cultural progress and social development,and fundamentally ensure the healthy development of technology at the cultural level.
