Hu Shih,one of the leaders of the New Cultural Movement,discussed his views of science in a number of articles penned in the late 1910s and early 1920s.This article introduces and comments on Hu’s understanding of such issues as the concept of science and scientific methods,scientific culture and spirit,the bankruptcy of the omnipotence of science,and science and the philosophy of life.
