Staying Independent,and Always Take the Fate of China’s Development and Progress into Our Own Hands:Studying the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century

回首百年奋斗征程,中国共产党历来坚持独立自主开拓前进道路,坚持中国的事情必须由中国人民自己作主张、自己来处理。党的十九届六中全会审议通过的《中共中央关于党的百年奋斗重大成就和历史经验的决议》将“坚持独立自主”作为党的百年奋斗的历史经验之一,指出“独立自主是中华民族精神之魂,是我们立党立国的重要原则”。全面准确理解坚持独立自主的深刻内涵,对推动新时代中国特色社会主义事业向前发展,实现第二个百年奋斗目标具有重大而深远的意义。

Looking back on the endeavors over the past century, the CPC has always followed an independent path and maintained that China’s affairs must be decided and run by the Chinese people themselves. The Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century adopted at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee regards “staying independent” as one of the historical experiences from the Party’s endeavors over the past century, and points out that “independence is the essence of China’s national spirit, and it is a major principle for building our Party and our country.” A comprehensive and accurate understanding of the profound connotation of staying independent is of far-reaching significance for promoting the development of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and achieving the Second Centenary Goal.
