关于禾本科的一些误解——植物学教材质疑(八)

摘要 禾本科植物具有巨大的生态和经济价值,其形态解剖结构和系统分类是植物学教材的重点内容。在学术和科普领域,grass一词的误译和哑铃形保卫细胞的误解十分流行;植物学教材对这些问题负有一定责任。此外,关于禾本科植物,植物学教材还普遍存在一些值得质疑的内容,如:将禾本科植物茎中的原生木质部腔隙说成气腔,而实际上它应是水腔;维管束鞘的归属未明确界定;禾本科植物花序和小穗结构的描述较为混乱。期待将来的植物学教材能在禾本科部分有所改进。 Due to the immense ecological and economic significance of grasses(Poaceae),the morphology,anatomy and systematics of these plants are most important content in botany textbooks.However,partly due to the textbooks,wrong translation of the English word“grass”and a misunderstanding about dumbbell-shaped guard cells are common.In addition,there are also some questionable issues in the textbooks.For example,protoxylem lacunae of grass stems are called as air space,whereas the lacunae,in fact,are filled with water;the structure of vascular bundle sheath in the grass stem is not clearly defined;and there is some confusion in grass inflorescence types and spikelet structure.It is hoped to improve the content of the family Poaceae in the future textbooks.
