Everything I Never Told You,a tragic story of a cross-racial marriage between Chinese and American,is written by Celeste Ng.The Chinese ethnic group represented by James Lee and his children in the novel are in the state of deep spiritual predicament and unable to surmount the cultural barriers between the two countries, which unfortunately leads to serious identity crisis and emotional anxiety.Interpreting the cultural image of"the other"in Chinese American marginalized people can explain the particularity of their identity dissociation and expose the real living situation of them in the context of American culture. The cultural reflection of them under self-reconciliation leads readers to think about the issues of Chinese ethnic identity. At the same time, the portrayal of the Chinese Americans also reflects Celeste Ng’s personal reviews and worries on the relationship between China and America.
