As a typical accusation against idols, the anxiety contained in idolatry is often covered,so that idol anxiety,an important socio-cultural phenomenon,is ignored.Sorting out the textual clues of idols through the context of media evolution,it is found that during the period of the construction and dissemination of idols through sculptures, portraits, texts and images as the main media, idolatry contains the anxiety of one group against other groups, resulting in external accusations such as idol destruction, idol astray, idol threat and idol deviance. The anxiety has formed an inward collapsing emotional spiral under the internet media, and the outward idolatry has gradually turned to the implicit idol anxiety.Idol anxiety in the network society obscures the spiritual resources of idols, which is specifically characterized by the anxiety of ideal body, identity and rapid fame. From the perspective of social norms, the best way to get rid of idol anxiety is not to manage and regulate anxiety, but to awaken the spiritual resources of idols and guide teenagers to pursue the spiritual goal of upward goodness.
