Most of Calvino's novels are written in the way of unnatural narration. In Baron in the Tree,Calvino tells the story of the protagonist Cosimo's pursuit of“impersonal integrity”by constructing unnatural space, shaping unnatural characters and adopting unnatural narrative mode.Calvino's use of unnatural narration makes the text a kind of fable, thus forming an infinitely open field of meaning.Unnatural factor is an indispensable factor in Calvino's novel writing, which makes his work allegorical and embodies the characteristics of unnatural narration.
