Confucian Inheritance in Southern Vietnam——A Case Study of Tran Bien Confucian Temple in Dong Nai Province

自儒家文明传播越南,儒学历代以来滋养着越南本土文化发展,以至儒家贯彻在越南整体民族文化内部,镇边文庙自1715年创立,作为南部最早文庙,主祀孔子,也是越中文化相互拥有同源交流的渊源的证明。这座越南阮王朝建造的第一座文庙,旨在通过弘扬儒家,尊重治学,重视贤才,由此诠释越南南方的文化认同。镇边文庙自300多年来,已成为边和地区和越南南方的传统文教传承中心。其存在意义印证着儒家文明传入越南,具有持续支持在地文化的动力,民众学习儒学经典,可丰富自身本土经验和文化发展内涵,更是有益越南当代社会的可持续发展。

Since the spread of Confucian civilization in Vietnam,Confucianism has nourished the development of Local culture in Vietnam since ancient times,so that Confucianism has been implemented in the overall national culture of Vietnam. As the earliest Confucian temple in the south,Tran Bien Confucian Temple has been established in honor of Confucius since 1715,which is also a proof that Vietnamese and Chinese cultures have the same origin of mutual exchange. The temple,the first of its kind built by the Nguyen dynasty,aims to define the cultural identity of southern Vietnam by promoting Confucianism,scholarship and talent. For more than 300 years,the Tran Bien Confucian Temple has become a traditional cultural and educational heritage center in Bien Hoa region and south Vietnam. The significance of the existence of the Tran Bien Confucian Temple confirms that the introduction of Confucian civilization into Vietnam has benefited the Vietnamese by providing the continuous nourishment for the vitality of local culture,for local people have enriched their own experience and cultural development connotation by learning Confucian classics,and their unique cultural heritage is beneficial to the sustainable development of contemporary Vietnamese society.
