Ganjea Jeonwoo’s Thought of Confucian Orthodoxy

艮斋田愚崇信“圣贤之学”,坚守“朱子学是正学”的立场,承李栗谷、宋尤庵之绪,严辨“正学”与“异学”、“圣学”与“异端”,一生致力于保存传承并捍卫传统文化以抗争外来殖民文化。高举“性师心弟”“性尊心卑”“心主性”大旗,辩斥岭南心宗的“心即理”说及华西学派与芦沙学派的心理模糊论,强调性本基础上的“敬”字工夫,尊明排清,笃志好学,守死善道,是一位不折不扣维护韩国道学的“斗士”和守道者。

Ganjae Jeonwoo,famous Korean Confucianist,believed in “Saints’ and Sages’ doctrines”,adhered to the position that“Zhuzi’s doctrines are the orthodox”,followed the thoughts of Li Ligu and Song You’an,and distinguished sternly“the orthodox doctrines”from “the heterodoxy”,“the Saints”doctrines”from “the heresy”.He devoted himself to preserving and defending the traditional culture against the foreign colonial culture.Holding highly the banners of“Nature as a master,while mind as an apprentice”,“Nature is noble,while mind is low”,“Nature reigns mind”,Jeonwooexcoriated the theory of“Mind is the principles”by the Mind School in Lingnan area,Huaxi School and Lusha School.He especially emphasized the practice of“Respect”on the basis of ontological nature.He is a real“fighter”and a“defender”of the orthodoxy of Korean Confucianism.
