Joint Efforts to Construct an“Ecological Community”in the Post-epidemic Era:An Overview of the 15^(th) Claremont International Forum on Ecological Civilization and the 4th International Youth Forum on Ecological Civilization

关于后疫情时代人类文明发展道路的探讨正持续成为全球热点。新冠疫情在一定程度上是现代生产生活方式的产物,是自然对人类提出的严重警告或报复。从生态文明的高度系统深入地反思人与自然、人与人以及人与社会的关系,推进人与自然、人与人的和谐共生,是时代发展的必然要求。当前的人类文明发展亟需一场彻底的生态变革,如果人类能够从新冠疫情中充分汲取经验教训、革新思想、推进生产生活方式的绿色转型,人类文明就可能由此化危为机,迎来全球生态文明快速和高质量发展的新阶段。

The 15^(th) Claremont International Forum on Ecological Civilization and the 4th International Youth Forum on Ecological Civilization were successfully held online from May 27 to May 29,2022,attracting more than 200 experts,scholars,builders of ecological civilization and non-governmental environmental protection organizations from China,the United States,the United Kingdom,South Korea,Japan,India,Hungary,Bhutan,Thailand,Malaysia,Indonesia and so on.John B.Cobb,Jr.,a 97-year-old academician of the American Academy of Humanities and Sciences,participated in the whole forum and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.Focusing on the construction of ecological civilization in the post-epidemic era,the forum carried out extensive sharing and sincere exchanges on three themes,namely,ecological village construction,ecological city construction and ecological network community construction.All participants reached a consensus on the point that ecological civilization is the common hope of all mankind.The ideal of“ecological community”was advocated and fully discussed through the whole forum,which not only deepens people’s understanding of and identification with the ideal,but also presents a brighter future of global ecological civilization construction.This forum has received great attention from the media and society,and has had a wide social influence.
