The paper bases its big data analysis on international publications in the field of cultural industry research and presents visualized knowledge maps from the perspective of literature analysis. The research progress, hotspots, future topics and trends are analyzed from dimensions of the publication year, country, institution, subject, citation, international cooperation and content. As the results suggest, international cultural industry research began in the 1980s and has boomed in the past decade. The United Kingdom, the United States,Australia,France, and Italy are leaders in the cultural industry and enjoy greater influence.China,South Korea and Indonesia have emerged as new forces in this area over the last decade. In terms of the cumulative number of publications, the UK maintains its first place in the world, followed by China;China has been the largest contributor of world publications since 2018,but its influence remains to grow. The paper suggests that Chinese academics should focus more on improving the quality of publications and expanding international influence.Domestic research should shift away from policy research towards systematic research of application practice.Efforts should be made to summarize and explore significant practical achievements in the domestic cultural industry in time, with the purpose of developing cultural industry theories with Chinese characteristics and make China's cultural industry a symbol of its soft power and cultural confidence.
